Dear Friends,

Welcome back from your summer vacations.  We are revved up and ready to roll with our opening event at the Simeone Foundation Auto Museum, Sunday September 26 from 4:30-7:30. What a fabulous and fun beginning to our year.  Please bring your spouse/significant other/family members  and meet and greet your friends.  There will be hosts to show us around—and great hors d’oeuvres and drinks.  Your eyes will pop when you see the race car exhibit.  Please sign up in advance to accommodate security.  This place is a hidden gem.

We have ELEVEN excellent events scheduled between the end of September and the beginning of December.  These events range from our opening President’s Breakfast Club meeting, October 1, with Steven Cochrane of Moody’s Analytics to give us his economic forecast outlook, to a Special Event breakfast with Philadelphia’s Mayor Nutter to give us the Philadelphia outlook, to more social events such as a factory tour (we are among the first) at Tastybaking’s new factory  and a beer tasting at Twin Lakes Brewery, our own  version of Octoberfest.  It is a brilliant lineup and I thank all of our officers and committee members who were responsible for putting this together.

YOU have many jobs:

  1. Renew or extend your membership on line.  If you have problems, call our website administrator to help you.  When you sign up for our PBC membership you are enrolled in all 9 PBC’s.  The Patron or Sponsor membership entitles you to free entry to all events except for Special Events such as the Mayor’s breakfast, which will raise funds for the Social Enterprise Initiative.
  2. Call your HBS friends in the greater Philadelphia/Wilmington/Trenton/Harrisburg area to alert them to the offerings and encourage them to become members or renew or extend their memberships.
  3. Review the 11 programs scheduled so far and reserve them on your calendar and sign up early.  Plan on bringing colleagues/ clients/ potential clients, as well as family to events.
