Seeking Social Enterprise Initiative Fellows (SEI Fellows)

Dear HBS Alumnus:

The Harvard Business School Club of Philadelphia strengthens our community by providing unique, world-class leadership development and business education to top nonprofit leaders in greater Philadelphia region.  This increased business acumen allows them to better leverage their talents, their staffs and volunteers, and their funding to have an even more powerful impact on our area.

Your support of time, resources and funds is crucial to continuing this important work.  Each year, the Club organizes and supports the following efforts:

- Sponsor top area nonprofit Presidents to attend executive education courses in nonprofit management held on the HBS campus.  To date, we have sponsored eighteen local Presidents/Executive Directors in Boston.

- Conduct a local, HBS-quality continuing education program for select nonprofit leaders.  With the help of HBS professors, we have hosted six annual events that educated over 100 nonprofit leaders.  The club also held the first virtual classroom follow up seminar in the spring of 2007.

- Provide events that bring HBS alumni and nonprofit executives together for educational and networking benefit.  Over the past years, over 120 HBS alumni and nonprofit leaders attended President’s Breakfast Club talks by Rebecca Rimel, President and CEO of the Pew Charitable Trust, Alba Martinez, President of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Dennis Wint, President of The Franklin Institute.

Many local business and organizations contributed over $200,000 to these efforts, including The William Penn Foundation, The Philadelphia Foundation, the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, TL Ventures, Comcast, Vanguard, SEI Investments, Liberty Property Trust, Drinker Biddle & Reath, Citizens Bank, Mellon Financial, Pitney Bowes, Levenger, and Tiffany & Company. In addition, over 30 HBS alumni have supported the Social Enterprise Initiative as volunteers and SEI Fellows.  This represents over 10% of total Club membership.

Please consider becoming an SEI Fellow with a tax deductible contribution of $500 or $1,000 or more.  Your generosity will help us continue this great work and will show our corporate supporters that we have the enthusiastic endorsement of our alumni.

To charge your tax deductable contribution, please click here. If you rather send a check, please make it out to "HBS Club of Philadelphia Social Enterprise" and mail to HBSCP club administration at 1231 Highland Ave, Fort Washington PA 19034.
