Kicking off our 2009/2010 program year, Presidents Breakfast Club is pleased to feature Jack Brennan, the well known local leader at one of the world’s most significant investment firms -- Vanguard Group.
John J. Brennan is Chairman of Vanguard and a member of the Board of Directors of each of the Vanguard mutual funds.
Vanguard is one of the world’s largest investment companies. Headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Vanguard comprises more than 100 separate domestic investment portfolios, with current U.S. fund assets of more than $1 trillion.
Mr. Brennan joined Vanguard in July 1982. He was elected President in 1989, served as Chief Executive Officer from 1996 to 2008 and has been Chairman of the Board since 1998.
Mr. Brennan is Chairman of the Financial Accounting Foundation; a governor of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA); a director of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania; a trustee of the University of Notre Dame; a trustee of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST); a past Chairman of the Investment Company Institute; and, a past governor of United Way of America.
Mr. Brennan graduated from Dartmouth College with an AB degree, and received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
Our discussion will take place Friday October 2, 2009 in the Lincoln Memorial Room at the Union League, which is located at Broad & Sansom Streets in Center City. A light breakfast will be available beginning at 7:30 AM with our discussion starting at 8:00 AM and ending promptly at 9:00 AM. The event is free to Sponsors, Patrons, and PBC Members.
