Our own Lynn Elsenhans will share her leadership story and vision, and enlighten us regarding the challenges in the oil refining sector of the energy business of late.

Ms. Elsenhans joined Sunoco, Inc. as chief executive officer and president in August 2008. She became chairman of Sunoco's board of directors in January 2009.  She is also chairman of Sunoco Partners LLC, the general partner of Sunoco Logistics Partners LP.

A veteran oil industry executive with domestic and international experience in manufacturing, marketing, and planning, Ms. Elsenhans joined Sunoco after 28 years with Royal Dutch Shell.  Her last assignment with Shell was as executive vice president, global manufacturing.  From 2003 to 2005, Ms. Elsenhans served concurrently as president of Shell Oil Company and president and chief executive officer of Shell Oil Products US.

Ms. Elsenhans graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Science in 1978 and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1980. 
She serves on the board of trustees for Rice University and the Council of Overseers for the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice.  Ms. Elsenhans is on the board of directors of International Paper Company and the Texas Medical Center. She is married to John Elsenhans and lives in Philadelphia.

Our discussion will take place Friday January 8, 2010 in the Lincoln Memorial Room at the Union League, which is located at Broad & Sansom Streets in Center City. A light breakfast will be available beginning at 7:30 AM with our discussion starting at 8:00 AM and ending promptly at 9:00 AM. The event is free to Sponsors, Patrons, and PBC Members.
